Whisper is a classic sailing yacht, a 116’ Sloop designed by Ted Hood and Ted Fontaine and built in Amsterdam by Holland Yachtbouw for her American owner. She was launched in 2003.
Whisper’s splendid interior, which will accommodate up to six guests and five crew, is by Andrew Winch Designs in London – one of the world’s leading yacht designers. Whisper is equipped with three staterooms offering high levels of comfort and luxury.
The enclosed pilothouse and lounge area is arranged to provide 360 degrees’ unobstructed visibility. Andrew discussed a number of different materials for the pilothouse bar and counter tops with Artifex London before deciding on a beautiful Egyptian alabaster. With glass on the upper surface to protect the stone and provide a practical, wipe-down surface, the bar is illuminated from within to create an exotic centrepiece in an already lavish interior.
From her homeport in the British Virgin Islands Whisper is available for charter (at an introductory rate of $65,000 per week) for sailing vacations around the Caribbean and along the New England coast.
Whisper was the winner of ‘Best Sailing Yacht under 40 meters’ in the ShowBoat Awards’2004.
Artifex London would like to thank Joyce Black for her kind assistance as well as Ben Osborne at Churchill Yachts and Whisper Yacht for supplying images.
